Ricly reads the selection — the menu itself says (30 files) before you click — and runs a few at a time. Several of the sites above take a batch too; with Ricly, the results land next to the originals, with nothing to download.

What macOS already does, first. Recent versions put a handful of actions straight into the right-click menu — rotate, create a PDF, convert an image, remove a background — and they are free and built in. Which of them you see depends on the file type and the Finder extensions you have turned on. Ricly adds the rest of this page to that same menu: compressing a PDF, converting audio to MP3, finding duplicate files, sending a large file with a link. Ricly is the same gesture extended to those jobs, in one menu that behaves the same way every time. Finding the file counts as a step on a website, because you have to go and look for it in a picker. Waiting is never counted: they all wait. Sixteen of the seventeen tools run on your Mac and send nothing; Upload & Share is the one that uploads, and it is the one job where everybody does.

The menu only ever shows what you can actually run.

Only the tools that fit what you clicked. No Pro tools in your menu until you are Pro. A ⚡ only marks a monthly allowance that’s used up, or a Pro tool left from a trial. Select several files and most tools run on the whole batch.

Do my files leave my Mac?

Only when you use Upload & Share, and then only the file you picked. Every other tool processes the file on your Mac and sends none of its content. Ricly does keep your account and your monthly counts, and the app has usage telemetry you can switch off in Settings.

Do I need an account?

Yes, a free one — an email address, no card. It keeps your plan, your share links and your monthly allowances the same on every Mac you sign in to.

What happens when I reach a free allowance?

Ricly tells you before it runs and shows how many you have used. The count resets at the start of each calendar month, UTC. A batch that would go past what is left is refused whole, so you never get a half-finished set — your files are untouched either way. Wait for the reset, or switch to Pro.

Which Macs does it run on?

macOS 13 Ventura or later, on Apple silicon and Intel.

Where do the results go?

Next to the original, in the same folder, with the same name and the new extension. Originals are never modified. If the name is already taken, Ricly appends “ 2”.

Can I cancel Pro?

Yes, from Ricly → Settings → Subscription, which opens your Stripe portal. Pro stays on until the end of the period you already paid for.

How many Macs can I use it on?

Free covers one Mac, Pro two. You can see and disconnect your devices in Settings → Devices. Pro can also add up to two family members, each with their own account.
